The idea of a floor bed stems from Maria Montessori’s philosophy on development, which stresses independence and freedom for the child within limits.

Made from locally sourced natural hardwood poplar! Poplar is a light/medium tan with tints of gray and green (green will fade to dark tan), detailed in photo "4". All Natural Appalachian Hardwood provides generations of value benefits for your health, home, and family, at minimal cost to the environment. It is beautiful if left natural, but is smooth and ready to finish should you want to DIY a painted or stained finish.

Railings stand 19.25" from the mattress base.

Our beds are built one at a time to ensure the highest possible quality and fit. Our beds are constructed using both screws and dowels, making them exceptionally sturdy. They are hand sanded smooth.

We include easy to follow instructions and are available to help with any questions when assembling.
